Diamond Drop Earrings

You often hear diamond drop earrings described as diamond dangle earrings or diamond chandelier earrings.  This is incorrect as drop earrings hang just below the earlobe and do not move around a lot hanging in a straight line from the base of the earring.  

Diamond Danglers or Chandeliers hang below the earlobe and they move with the body as the link or chain used to attach the stones is flexible and loose. They can be a single strand or branch out into several with lengths going from just below the earlobe all the way down to the shoulder.

The most popular diamond drop earrings are white gold three stone diamond earrings with claw mounts which create very stylish and dramatic effect when they catch the light and sparkle.

White gold triple bezel diamond drop earrings are another option when the metal surrounds the diamonds.  With white gold this setting can make the diamonds appear larger and the stones are less likely to get chipped, but as the setting encases the stone the light cannot pass through it so easily and they can be less sparkly.

Heart or star shaped diamond drop earrings are hot items as they are fun to wear and look great with more formal wear or evening dresses.

Weddings are a wonderful time to show off diamond drop earrings as they drop from the bride’s ear and sparkle as she walks down the aisle. Brides also often have their hair up or wear off the shoulder gowns, which all add to the effect of diamond drop earrings.
